Case study · Aug 2025 – Jul 2026
A Tomball generator dealer went from invisible to page one, and the phone started ringing.
Power Solutions Specialist installs and services whole-home generators around Houston. Twelve months ago almost nobody found them in search. Today they own their name, rank on “generator installation,” and take a tracked phone call for about the price of a service-truck lunch.
Where they started
Page five of the results
In the summer of 2025 the site earned 65 organic clicks in 90 days against 4,984 ad views (Google calls these "impressions," meaning how many times the listing showed up), sitting at an average position of 48.7, which is the fifth page of results. For a dealer whose territory is one of the largest storm-exposed metros in the country, that is functionally not existing. Every generator search in their service area was being answered by somebody else.
What we did
Four moves, in order
- Rebuilt the site around what people actually search: installation, service, maintenance and repair each earning their own page instead of one “Services” catch-all.
- Claimed the brand. Their own name was being lost to national manufacturer listings and directories.
- Built out local presence: Google Business Profile and map coverage so the “near me” searches point straight to them.
- Paid search on the high-intent terms only, launched March 2026: one campaign, calls tracked as the goal, no vanity clicks.
Search results, twelve months later
Search listing views grew 37-fold
That is not a small ranking tweak. That is Google now understanding this business sells generators in Houston.

The keywords that matter
Brand proves awareness. Non-brand proves pipeline.
Both moved. The “near me” cluster is the growth runway: strong impression volume already, positions still climbing out of the teens.

Counts are Google-recorded conversion actions; the campaign-attributed conversion total for the period is 102 and includes Google's modeled conversions. Separately, the Google Business Profile drove 113 profile engagements, 48 direction requests and 45 website visits in the same window.
Almost every lead was a phone call. In this industry nobody fills out a form when the power is out. That is exactly why call handling is the next thing we fix.
Why this matters for your dealership
Rankings, map presence and paid coverage, working together
A generator dealer's problem is not awareness in general. It is being the one who answers when somebody types “generator installers near me” at 9pm after a transformer blows. That takes three things working together: pages Google trusts, a local profile that shows up in the map, and paid coverage on the handful of searches that carry real intent. Power Solutions Specialist now has all three, and the results above are what that looks like on a twelve-month runway.
The one gap that remains at every dealer we talk to, including this one, is what happens to the call itself. During a storm event, missed calls are lost installs, and no amount of ranking fixes a voicemail box. That is the next build.
